I love my wine fridge…

Wine fridges should have 2 zones, one for reds and one for whites. I keep my reds at 58 degrees and my whites at 46 degrees. When you take a bottle of red out and open it, it will warm up to 62 degrees which is just about perfect for various reds. My wine fridge goes down to 46 degrees, however I like my whites down to a crisp 36 degrees.

Right now I have both zones set to 58 degrees because I am keeping my whites in the big fridge. I had to make room for my box of Cabernet.

Latest Walmart Find!

Picked this nice CAB up from Walmart the other night. Not bad at all. Kim loved it also. It was just slightly oakey, but just enough to savor the buttery finish. Kim loved it and asked me to go buy more. Need I say any more?

Really nice CAB at $7.99! That’s right!

Yes, A Box Wine Review!!!

Pepperwood Grove – Pinot Noir

That’s right! We review box wines also! This one is a new find. Picked it up at Brackett’s Market in Bath, ME for $14.99 on sale! I have to say, not bad at all for a boxed Pinot Noir. Very smooth and fruity. A good summer night wine should you happen to pass on a Rose’.

One of our favorite Cab Sav’s !

Dry Creek Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

I can’t say enough about this wine. It is approaching the upper ceiling of what we will pay for a bottle of wine, however that being said, if you have some extra coin in your pocket, you must at least give this one a try. One of my very favorite Cabs! I think we shelled out around 23 bucks for this bottle of wine.

A very good Grenache from Spain!

La Garnacha Salvaje

This is one of my favorites from Bootleggers in Topsham. This is an Old Vine Grenache that is well worth the money at 10.99 a bottle. Check out the really cool label! Very full bodied, fruity and legs for miles! Yummy! La Garnacha Salvaje

New Discovery at Now you’re Cooking

Kim and I we’re out walking the other night in Bath and decided to drop in at NYC and check out the wines. Well, bonus stop! Michael Fear, the owner turned us onto an excellent Cab Sav (Cabernet Sauvignon). Bacchus, yes Bacchus. Here is the description: Medium bodied with ripe plum, black currant and blackberry flavors, with a touch of mint. Cedar and dusty earth emerge on the long, layered finish. We loved it at first sip. And here is the kicker, excellently priced at 8.99 a bottle!

Bacchus Cabernet Sauvignon
Excellent sipping wine!

New Grenache @ Bootleggers!

Found a new Spanish Grenache at Bootleggers this past Holiday. Fantastic! 92 points. A little pricey though. Breca (meaning “river fish”) hence the scales on the label , they are selling it for $14.99 with $4.00 off. That is typically a little high for a Spanish Grenache, however it is 100% Grenache.
